Such a beautiful day, and I’ve been promised homemade waffles next weekend. Little things are much sweeter when you’ve got a baby wreaking havoc on your schedule.
What does it say about me as a person that my first thought after the storms pass is: damn, I really need to get out with my camera tomorrow if it’s not raining too hard, so I can take pictures of the damage!
There should probably be a question mark in there somewhere, but I’m not sure I deserve one.
This week, I am going to finish the (first) draft of the story I started working on… I don’t know when. Two weeks ago? Baby-time is confused-time. The first 1200 words poured out and I haven’t had time to get back since — but I will. I’d better find time before class this fall, anyway; I’m running out of old drafts that I can pretend are new.
I started blogging initially in… 2003? 2004? Years ago, anyway, and I remember that, back then, it was a big deal to have a glitzy site if you could. Special, personalized layouts, skins, widgets, whatever css you could cobble together that looked okay — you put it in there. It was part of the thing (if you were doing a personal blog, anyway). Now, I’m hanging out here on tumblr and sure, there are customization options, but most people just choose a theme, toss in some badges, and get their type on.
I think I like this better. It’s easier, to say the least, and way less stressful.
So we’re switched over to pretty much only cloth diapers now, with a very few exceptions, like if we’re going to be out for a while in the car. Otherwise, though, we’re washing ‘em up, and it’s a lot…
